28 August 2026 • Photo recap
Friday 28 August was our Spring Picnic at St. Ronald's Homeschool in Brackenhurst, Alberton – and the garden did not disappoint. Learners brought snacks and a picnic spirit, pulled chairs up around the stone table under the trees, and spent the morning together outdoors.
Days like this sit alongside the academic programme on purpose. Structured Home School Support still needs room for friendship, fresh air and a shared memory. That is what this morning was for.
The invitation: colourful / floral dress, snacks and a picnic blanket – 28 August 2026.
The picnic table was the centre of the morning: Coca-Cola bottles, Debonairs pizza, cupcakes, chips and plenty of conversation. Some learners sat on the stone benches, others stood under the pergola. It was informal, noisy in the best way, and very much a St. Ronald's gathering rather than a formal event.

At St. Ronald's we support CAPS, IEB, Cambridge, GED and University of Cape Town Online High School learners with daily structure and individual attention. Fun days do not replace that work. They support it.
A picnic in the garden gives learners a chance to mix across grades, practise social skills without a worksheet in front of them, and attach good memories to the place where they study. Parents often tell us this sense of belonging is one of the reasons they chose a tutor centre in Brackenhurst rather than studying only from home.
Thank you to every family who packed snacks and let their children enjoy the morning. More photo days and special events will follow through the year.
Registration for 2027 is open – limited spaces. If you would like your child in a homeschool environment that takes both academics and community seriously, come and visit us at 11 Vermooten Street, Brackenhurst.
